miniDIRECTOR
Hello! I'm Grace and I am the director of our student-led enterprise, miniME. I have always had a passion for art, and I have been working with disabled children from various care centers and orphanages for years through different clubs and projects. Most of the toys that these children get to play with are second hand toys from donations. More interestingly, there are barely any toys in the market that represent the disabled community either. Therefore with miniME, our team hope to give these children joy through customized plushies in which they can look into and see their own lovely selves.

Hey y’all, I’m Jeeda and I am the web designer of out student-led initiative, miniME. I believe that helping someone feel included is a great way to get to know each other better, and share new perspectives that we may not have experienced for ourselves. Through miniME, we have the opportunity to interact with the children, as well as supporting each other’s self-confidence.

I have a soft spot for kids, especially those with specialties; I value their differences and I feel like they have great potential in making the world a better place. Giving everyone the same amount of opportunities will definitely build an inclusive community that not only values diversity, but respects one another. In the same light, if the project is successful, the kids that we will be helping will be given a chance to put themselves in the spotlight, they will be able to showcase their talents to everyone. My friends and I will be able shed light on topics regarding people with disabilities in a positive way, contributing to the community and ultimately helping people.

During my childhood, my mom would take me to an orphanage which include kids with disabilities from time to time. Every time I go I would always feel helpless despite donating a lot of clothes as well as money. As I progress into my teen years I've understood why I never feel satisfied helping them just by donating, I wanted change. I wanted these kids to feel accepted and comfortable in their own skin, to live a live where they don't constantly feel alienated. This project made me feel like I am helpful in empowering these children in our own way. It is absolutely the best thing I can ask for, to see these children grow and loving our dolls that represent them.

Hi, I’m Van.
People with disabilities are being overlooked due to their differences. I believe that everyone should receive equal amount of chances and respect from others because all lives matter. I no longer want them to feel isolated from us. I want them to be part of our community. As a student, I want to be part of the change. In this project, we will spend our time interacting and playing with them. We will also be selling products, such as bags and dolls, which we hope to support the disabled community. All the profits will be donated to the disabled children at Camillian Home. (:
